Wavering Wheat

Jeremy,my good buddy and the first to-be employee of WHBC, was kind enough to write a quick review of Wavering Wheat, a Choc beer brewed in Oklahoma. Choc Beer Company: The Waving Wheat pours with a small head and a golden cloudy body. The aroma is of hops with a hint of sweetness. The first taste brings a nice balance of hops and wheat that goes down smooth and lingers until the hops dominate the wheat in a unique way. The flavor is refreshing and leaves a taste that you want to continue. This is a good beer with an easy taste that feels good and anyone would enjoy.

Harrington's Big John
Tuesday, 15 December 2009 17:18
Rob
Produced by New Zealand's largest craft brewery, Big John is listed as a "Special Reserve" Ale, with Bourbon added to the mix. This strong dark, listed at a mid-ranged 6.5% alcohol, is a welcome reprieve from the low alcohol and NA trend that permeates the beer industry in NZ and AUS. The beer is coffee colored and dense, holding its color well even in a thin glass. The head is creamy and thick as to be expected, though not overly carbonated as many ales of its type tend to be. The taste is creamy coffee with vanilla notes on the finish (as the bourbon would appear to add). Quite good on this cold summer's day.

Three Boys Pils

Rob
A quick review of a beer that's close to my heart, 3 boys Pils. Hailing from Christchurch, NZ, you wont' find it in the states, but if you find yourself on New Zealand's "Main land", you are in for a treat. With a crisp finish and a clear but appropriate Saaz hop bite, this beer is a great choice. A good example of a Pilsner that is actually a Pilsner for all of you Bud Light fans. Then again, what Bud Light fan would read this? Anyway, if you find youself on the southern hemisphere, check er out. Check out 3 boys brewery @ www.threeboysbrewering.co.nz, and let them now that Rob sent you.

Westmalle Trippel

Rob
Not much time today - but I did want to get out a homework assignment. If you have not enjoyed a fifth of Westmalle Trippel, alone or with others, I thoroughly encourage it. Not only is it most excellent, draft magazine gave it a perfect rating. While I would not say that the Belgian Trippel is my favorite style, I will say that this one is my favorite, with massive, thick head, perfect lacing, nice sweetness, but not too cloying. Drink up!
